Hi Peter,

yes I am the beta tester, I didn't speak on the mailing list as I was in
fairly frequent contact with Alex on IRC - did you know there's a
blender-vse channel on freenode?

I posted here at the request of Ton to get some sort of status update made
in public as there is a lack of momentum on improving the VSE and Alex's
project seems like a good starting point to investigate from. I didn't
realise that you were the module owner, or is that historical now?

Ton put me and Sergey together for a chat at the conference as in Amsterdam
because I use the VSE as much as possible in my professional work and am
always pushing for it to move forward but there does seem to be a few
barriers to this and there seems to be some thought that for the next
foundation project (gooseberry) that the VSE will be in heavy use.

At this point I am just trying to ascertain what resources are available to
deploy in these efforts and from this what sort of expectations can be
raised. A long term design plan would be great to have as it would give a
roadmap to any devs who are available for volunteer work to follow or for
devs assigned by the foundation / projects to implement so if you're up for
talking about that, wonderful. I guess the new phabricator thing will be
fully operational soon and maybe that is the place to continue this...
