Hi,

a) What I've done this week:
     * Added a first draft of the Autosmooth modifier.
     * Worked on modifier stack performance, achieving some speedups
(mostly in CustomData and CDDerivedMesh code).
     * Refactored and tidied up modifier stack code in places.

b) What I plan to do next week
     * Continue work on the Autosmooth modifier, adding a "set smooth"
option and support for user-defined sharp edges.
     * Add a first draft of the Displace modifier.
     * Continue optimisation and refactoring of modifier stack code.
