Hi,

We need to have a good understanding of the situation of bpython in
different os's. Later this week we should post at the main blender list and
python forums in blender.org and elysiun.com asking for this information.

With a clear picture we can look at how to make it easier for users to run
scripts in Blender. We need answers to these questions:

1) What is your OS (including version) ?

2) Is Python a default component -- did it come with your OS ?

3) If you have a full Python installed: is there anything that must be done
(like setting PYTHONPATH sys var) to access the full version installed?
Please be sure of this. And which version of Python is available? 2.2 or
2.3?

4) Where we can't assume a full installation: which important modules are
missing in the lib that comes with Blender? Example: os, math.

5) Which version would you like in Blender 2.29: Python 2.2 or 2.3?

With this info we can see what to do, ask advice on the possibility of
adding modules to the lib linked to Blender, etc.

We should collect the info about each system in a table, then see what we
can do. If someone would like to help / coordinate / collect the info,
volunteers are welcome.

All feel free to reply with answers to the questions or criticism about
them. It'll be good to already have a better idea about it before asking
"outside".

A suggestion:

If you reply and your system is say Win 98, put "bpython in Win 98" as your
subject. And if someone already wrote about Win 98, reply to that msg to
add your comments, since it's the same system.

Thanks in advance,
