Something I forgot to mention,

I also plan on contacting the major tutorial authors and getting
Blender 'certified' capable of accomplishing their tutorials.

Ie contacting Jeff Lew regarding his animation tutorial etc.  And
possibly see about reciprocal marketing opportunities.  That would
accomplish two things - 1) feedback by respected professionals on
Blenders suitability 2) greatly increased confidence by the public
that Blender is capable of accomplishing all of the needed aspects.
