Instead of a lengthy startup script, even five minutes is too long IMO and
will probably be hard to find someone to make it anyway, it should just ask
several simple questions like "Left or Right mouse button to select",
"Turntable or Trackball style camera", etc then save the defaults that way.
 And if someone just wants to use their current defaults then a button that
says "Cancel" should suffice.

Simple is better!
