[Bf-cycles] Bf-cycles Digest, Vol 6, Issue 14

Hi Andrew,

How much memory does your graphics card have?

I had the same problem for a scene I'm currently working on, I overcame the issue byreducing subsurf levels and making sure I didn't have several large pictures or textures open in another program, which will use some of the graphics cards memory.  In fact I started closing all other programs then launch Blender and start the final render.

Another idea I looked at was to try reducing the resolution of texture maps on distant objects.

Hope this helps,

David

Thanks for the fast response Brecht :)

>Are there any errors in the console?"
Yes, the error I receive is:
"CUDA error: Out of memory in cuLaunchGrid(cuPathTrace, xblocks, yblocks)"

>Cycles expects latlong maps, is that the format you used?
No I used Angular. Thanks for clarifying that. I'll use LatLong in the future.

Cheers!
