yes there are plans about automating things later when the api will 
stabilize a bit.

There has been discussion about this in March 2010.
Have a read at

Apart from having a big list in text format, there is more work to do, 
like doing appropriate templating in wiki to integrate things in a 
proper reference, to be used by wiki writers. The goal is to let people 
use templates to input shortcuts and screenshots instead of typing 
things manually (or copypasting from a txt) so that updating a single 
template changes the whole wiki according to the correct blender version.

My personal plan is to discuss this at the conference before doing any 
heavy changes in wiki.
