Past icons were built by Jendrzych (http://pixel-sized.blogspot.com/) and
you can get original svg on his blog or (I think) somewhere in SVN.  You
might want to ask him if he has available time to help out.  The other
thing is that you do have a large artist population at your back, given
this is an art tool.  Start a thread on BA asking for help.  I would like
to note that Ton in the past has vetoed icons because they did not fit with
the style of the current icon set, so it might be beneficial to specify
exactly what you need and what is likely to be accepted into trunk.

If I recall, one of the main arguments against icons for tools was that
there would be so many, and it would be a big workload.  I personally like
them much better, but creating an iconset for all the tools is going to be
a big task in and of itself.
