Just to clarify, this is what I am proposing: only allow MRM editing in
sculpt mode, and use the modifier stack to display the result outside
sculpt mode. Only the conversion would happen automatically each
time sculpt mode is entered or exited, so the user wouldn't have to do
it manually.
