[Soc-2005-dev] Ping 2! (status update please)

I'm feeling a little discouraged ATM-- I can't get some things
to work with ffmpeg. If I can work out these lumps this week,
though, I should be on track for completion.

Problems:
1) setting output video bitrate
2) catching errors if the output parameters aren't set right
3) audio in general-- again, there's just no documentation
