[Bf-webcontent] why "what's new" link in front page directly points to wiki?

the blender.org web site main page has a blender 2.71 quick download 
button-like field
on the right of this button-like field there is a "what's new" link, 
which points directly to the wiki release note page for that release.

what's the point in linking that page instead of the "features" subpage 
http://www.blender.org/features/2-71/ which, btw, points to the above 
wiki page for more details?

btw, that button-like field and the links on the right, also "move" 
fuzzily on mousover, on my FF/IE
