Thanks everybody for your feedback and suggestions!

Some comments on the feedback from Andrew and Duncan

1. The headline needs to sell
I see your point, and understand the need to define a nice, clear and
to the point definition of Blender. Keep in mind that Blender is free
software project, not just a program, and it's very important to
communicate that too.

2. Bullet points
Good point, the text on the website can always be improved and
changed. Your suggestion of using bullets sounds nice.

3. Tutorials
Tutorials are useful indeed, but are not the only type of learning
material/documentation searched by users. The blender wiki, for
example, is extremely popular too. The idea of having a section of the
website dedicated to provide support to all kind of users (from
hobbyists, to professional from beginners to advanced) seems more
appropriate.

4. Gallery or Demo Reel
This section has been requested by everyone. It seems that without a
gallery or a demo reel Blender can not prove its value. With the new
website we would like to go beyond this concept.
The idea is to have a section of the website showcasing relevant
projects realized with Blender (movie productions, live shows, complex
biological visualization) and explain why it is a great choice for
those types of project. A perspective user should be inspired by these
stories!
A reel is interesting to look into, maybe after Siggraph?

5. Getting Involved?
The reason why Blender exists and is a prominent open source project
is because people decide to get involved in its development and
documentation. This section will be a hub (like the support section)
where different users will be directed to different contents.

Some comments on the feedback from LetterRip

Blender is a free open source project, so following the "competitor"
logic works up to a certain point I think. I also think we all know
how the websites of other 3D applications look like.
As written above, we can certainly work further to reduce text,
simplify and make pages more visual. So, that point is taken.

Thanks to everybody for the time you have taken to write your
feedback, it is really appreciated!

Francesco
