Hi all,

the Blender Foundation has been receiving a lot of complaints about
ebay scammers and such - for instance

http://cgi.ebay.com/3d-Animation-studio-works-with-max-maya-for-mac-osx_W0QQitemZ300116263535QQihZ020QQ

That are selling Blender but making no mention that it actually
Blender they are selling or that it can be freely downloaded from
blender.org.

To combat this he would like us to consider moving to a unified
license such as the Creative Commons attribution license for the
images (ie the images in the features section) and possibly other
content.

His suggested wording is

 ------------
The Attribution is:

"This content is about the free and open source 3D software Blender,
and has been copied from http://www.blender.org, where you can also
find the original copyright information."

Note for website Attributions:

The URL in the attribute should be clickable and go to the frontpage
of the www.blender.org website.
 ------------

The CC attribute was used for ED

http://orange.blender.org/blog/creative-commons-license-2/

and seems to be working well.

I think that is a great idea, although perhaps a few tweaks on the
wording would be a good idea,

what are your thoughts?

LetterRip
