[Bf-vfx] Multicamera Reconstruction Plans

Hey everybody,

During GSoC I started the work on multicamera reconstruction, but found
that there would need to be many significant changes to the Blender UI to
accommodate it. So it's now a good idea to get feedback from artists and
make plans for how multicamera reconstruction should work.

It is currently built in such a way that each movie clip editor context has
a single clip open. For multicamera reconstruction, we need to be able to
open multiple clips in a single context to be able to form associations
between them. At the moment, you select a clip and a mode and then work on
that clip in that mode. Now we need to be able to somehow open extra,
related clips while in the "Reconstruction" mode.

For now, let's think about how we want multicamera reconstruction to work
and let it shape the overall design. What would make it nice and friendly
to use? Some questions to think about:

- How to view and add tracks to multiple clips at the same time? Some kind
of split pane within the editor? Seems like it might easily get crowded.
- How to create correspondences between tracks in different clips? This
could be as boring as "select tracks, click a 'create correspondence'
button, repeat". Maybe there are some more interesting ideas?
- How to visualise the correspondences and dependencies between clips? Draw
pretty lines between the tracks? Identify common tracks with the same track
number and display that in some way?

These are just some thoughts. I'd just like to get an idea of what would be
expected from multicamera reconstruction.

Thanks,
Joe
