@ someone somebody

regarding your concern,
"Also the auto-detect button for threads in the scene window doesnt
update the number of threads the shows on the window
(it shows 1 even
if you have dual or quad core)."

That number you're referring to is grayed out and only applies to when you have the Fixed button pressed (the button that lets you specify how many cores you want to use). You can change the number when it is grayed out and it will be applied when you activate Fixed. Otherwise, it is Automatic...

Hello,

I guess this is temporary but in the current build in order to add another material to an object you have to switch to the Object Data tab. shouldnt you be able to achive this from the materials tab (Adding and Deleting materials).
Worse still if an object doesnt have a material the materials buttons are empty...
Can the max material limit also be increased in blender 2.5? for cases where you need to have one hugh mesh you might have a thousand of materials assigned to it which means you cant have it as one mesh.

And i still cant find any X button on the still rendering window...

Also the auto-detect button for threads in the scene window doesnt update the number of threads the shows on the window (it shows 1 even if you have dual or quad core.

Another thing is that blender has so many modifiers that you cant see them all in the add list...
A scroll bar for it and perhaps also a search widget are needed. (otherwise most people wont be able to get to most modifiers)
