I'll second that.

Anything concerning the API has to be thought out,
because releases are "contracts" with are users that
about the fonctionality and structure of the API.

We can't go around rushing stuff just before a release
when we know full well we might jumble it around for
the next.

This should have been discussed on this list
*beforehand*.
