but know that another Python lib might have that, 
so perhaps you can try seeing the source there:

but somewhere there, dunno if that's useful but seemed to have some basic 
stuff (written in Pyrex)

google probably would lead to literature about the subject (the actual 
math), as surely will people here too i suppose :)
