Yes, this is already known.  The problem was with cr/lf (dos line
endings).  I thought I had fixed all issues while trying to keep things
fast, but one remained with '\' (actually the sequence \\r\n), that I
only read about after 2.32 came out.  I tried a fix, will commit with
other stuff soon.
