Let's see what we get after the current big changes in the UI, followed by
upgrades in the python UI, too, Stani.  There are a number of possible
solutions or "ways around" that we might try.  Currently, though, it's
already possible to access other parts of Blender while a script is running,
if the script uses the Draw.Register method (for guis and input).  This may
be a possible way, and will be improved soon.
