[Bf-funboard] Positioning of "last render" viewer

When pressing F11 to view the last rendered image, what decides which 
area gets turned into an image editor?

It looks like it might be the largest area.. Sometimes feels random when 
I have two areas of very similar size and it goes into an unexpected 
area (often a node editor I was just planning on using for some 
compositing).
Does anyone else feel like it would be more consistent and useful to use 
the area under the mouse cursor?
