[Bf-funboard] per-vertex properties

I'm about to implement per-vertex properties in Blender. This will help a
couple of projects considerably (like blend2cs, which is no longer mine,
btw.). So I'd like to ask in which flavour you want to have them in :-).
My question is how the user interface should behave. Should the properties
list among the realtime buttons switch into some kind of per-vertex mode when
the user presses <TAB>? Or would you rather like some other behaviour? I'm
terribly bad at UI design.
Next, I'm going to look for all the relevant code (the meshrep and the code
for the realtime buttons, that is) and dive in...
