This is quite a strange response - Its true that we haven't had great adoption.

On the other hand if you seriously propose to move to a different
system - we should either do this or not (or let others know its being
seriously considered - if it really is???).

For people working on existing manual (and writing translations for
eg) its really a bad message to give some vague hint that the system
will be removed and their work will be lost.
