Hi,

I've contacted the gallery maintainer to ask why it stalled so long.
Plan for the future is to refresh our website team as well, there were about 80+ people with accounts there, but progress halted a lot in the past years.

The gallery is terribly out of date, but I understand there's a bit of work in maintaining it, so how about linking it with the highest rated posts in the gallery on blenderartist.org or something? Not the whole gallery, only the best of the best :)

If anything Blender.Org should have contests for the best picture and film with good prizes. Perhaps one contest for each release cover photo. Perhaps with a panel of 5 pros as judges.
