Have a good look at this page, which explains how Wikipedia works.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:About

See how authors are supposed to contribute:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:About#Contributing_to_Wikipedia

BTW wiki maintainers do not plunge into contents:
They can use various
tools<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators/Tools>and
flags to mark any page.

   - This page needs cleaning up.
   - This page may not meet wiki's standards- Review is required!
   - This page may have outdated information,.
   - The information on this page is in high flux, and may be not be reflect
the latest state of development at the time of reading.

Further action is taken by other authors.

Finally, look at this important philosophy (copied verbatim from Wikipedia,
including the emphasis):

Wikipedia is *written largely by amateurs*. Those with expert credentials
are given no additional weight. Some experts contend that expert credentials
are given less weight than contributions by amateurs. Wikipedia is also not
subject to any peer review for scientific or medical or engineering
articles. One advantage to having amateurs write in Wikipedia is that they
have more free time on their hands so that they can make rapid changes in
response to current events. The wider the general public interest in a
topic, the more likely it is to attract contributions from non-specialists.
