Hi,

Could be served with an external app as well. This is too specific to
define it as an integrated blender feature.

Yes, but thats the past. For an open source project it is beyond the
scope i guess.

PDA is a different topic. The 3d browser plugin was a remarkable
achievement, but we couldn't manage to make it run well for other
browsers than Windows IE... I think development of such a plugin
requires an organisation level we are really far from now, and most
likely something we shouldn't aim for.
When the Solid library comes back in Blender, we can evaluate how many
people like to maintain the current engine. There are a lot of issues
to solve in that area still.

Some yes, but more from a commercial exploitation focus. I think other
features are far more interesting to attract artists and professional
users:
- import/export 3d file formats
- integrated (mpg) movie in/out, audio support
- support for external renderers
- more advanced python api, to allow 'plugins'
- improved modeling/animation tools
- interface issues in general... (compatibility, "modernisation")

I also doubt Maya/3DS/SI/LW etc. have "locking and signing" built-in.

We've discussed the required focus for blender projects a few times
before. I prefer to support attempts to reduce the technological
complexity for blender quite some; in its code base and its dependecies
and its amount of features.
Focus could be at 'tools for artists', creating 3d content in general.
Anyhoo, would love to get more feedback on it from people here.
