The filesize doesn't increase that much if you add the header image, I
added the image to the original in a test and it was only 12kb more
afterwards (header at 150dpi), which is accaptable I think!

about the blue titles: I would use the blender logo colour (if it is,
then it's just my eyes playing tricks on me), and not yet another
shade of blue.
Also, I would use the same colour for the bottom line as for the
header (right now it's brown).

As for the contrast of the boxes, yes I think that should be more
obvious aswell and that was definately an advantage of the darker
background, so try to make the borders a bit thicker/darker maybe?
