Hi all,

I've asked Ton about the domain and how to handle this. He has now
renewed the domain for a year, and the original site should be visible
again within 48 hours (I already see the original site!). Blender
Foundation will sponsor this domain for one year, so next expiration is
13 July 2012.

Ton suggested we lay down a plan (as Verse users/coders) what we want to
do with uni-verse.org. I think it would be nice if we as more or less
active community members (well, 'active' ;) ) can work out something
that can ensure continuation of uni-verse.org as one point for
information under our own control.

I would be happy to host the site eventually, but I'd like to see and
hear what others on this list think uni-verse.org could and should be
for Verse.

My ideas:

* host binaries for several platforms for download. Update them when
fixes appear in Verse svn.
* have a Verse 1 master server and one server running
* have eventually a Verse 2 server running
* have a section with history based on what is currently in
uni-verse.org, mentioning the Uni-Verse consortium, the principle
developers, etc.

Less essential, but maybe nice, a simple forum (I like django platform,
and there are several nice ready django apps for simple forums), and a
way for community members to register to the site and connect there
(again, I'd use django again to tie this all nicely together).

Verse developement as a whole I think can still be conducted in the
several locations we now have: verse repository on svn.blender.org,
verse 2 repository by Jiris university and VerseSharp on code.google.com

Let's hear your thoughts!

Cheers,

/Nathan
