[Verse-dev] Verse r2p5

Hello.

I just tagged, packaged, and uploaded Verse r2p5. There seemed to be
some remaining problems with socket creation that prevented the ref-
erence server from starting if a client was running (!). I am still
not 100% sure about the fixes, but they sure felt kind of sane and it
seems to at least work now for me. Heh.

Also tweaked the server's banner line to include the release and
patch number of Verse it was compiled against, which I think is a
nice thing to have.
