[Uni-verse] possible maxbug

Hi.
I normally experience a lot of server crashes.

So some of my experiences...

1. Server crashes when running it on a too-fast computer and/or dual-core
machines under Win32.
I am not joking, we have tested several machines and this is always
reoccurring, we also tested this in conjunction with different network
speeds etc.

2. Make sure you are not running the server in a debug-compiled version on
Win32 machine (It normally crashed due to some strange assert's).

3. The verse client/lib is NOT thread safe and normally the server crashes.
Also, if you have several connections with the same user/pwd.. the server
sometimes crashes on win32.
If max somehow execute/run more than one instance of the plugin or uses more
than one thread... I will probably crash.

I don't know exactly what it is that crashes in the lib, but the code is
full of statics... so...

After we re-wrote our connection lib (verseBridge) to handle thread-safty,
we experience less (but still some) crashes.

/martin

Hi Gert & Eskil

i have to go now unfortunately
i succeeded to connect 3ds but unable to see anything, and if i understood
well we have to manipulate sth in conn to be able to see an obj in max

what are these new command prompts appearing separtely with lqa and conn?

Akos,

you could try downloading another version (more stable without sub
division surfaces) from
http://www.uni-verse.org/uploads/media/connector-2006-03-15-win32.zip

Best Regards
Gert
