Dear Friends,
this is a reminder of the decision on the PCC meeting to have the state
of the art and use case documents ready on Monday morning next week.
Please also note the PCC meeting on Friday next week (June 17) at 10-12
CET DST. More details will follow.
Here are some paragraphs from the PCC protocol:
"5. Planning of future work to improve the project, including exploitation
1. State of the art review (doc 1).
It was decided that each partner does a state of the art review of
his own task (WP) and submits that to the exploitation manager Ton
Roosendaal.
2. Use cases for Uni-Verse output (protocol, libraries, tools, plug-ins
and applications) in selected areas (doc 2).
Four areas were defined and it was decided to set up a working group for
each area, with a responsible. Ton Roosendaal will coordinate the
activity and assemble the result.
* The first version of the documents should be completed on June 12 and
distributed via email. Improvement and discussion will take place in the
week after.
* A PCC meeting to finalize the result will be held on June 17 10.00 CET."
I have been asked about the depth of the state of the art review.
The state of the art review is a part of the report “Exploitation plan"
to be submitted to the commission at the mid term review in August and also
at the next review. I think the section about each component can be
brief. The most important part is to describe what each component
brings to the Uni-Verse system. What makes it a useful and unique part
of the Uni-Verse system and address an area which is not possible to address
with other tools. Two sections should be more elaborate and that is the
Verse protocol itself and the audio system. They are considered unique
in themselves.
Best Regards
Gert
