The systems sends you a confirmation, which should be replied to. Then  
you'll receive mailing list mails. Simple. :)

General info:
- the list is not public listed at blender.org.
- anyone can send mail to it now (also non-subscribers). When spambots  
discover this list I can change it to subscriber-only
- the archives (past mails) can only be viewed by subscribers.
- When you login to the site (with above URL) you can tweak some  
settings if you like.
- mail ton@blender.org if you need support for this list.

I propose (following Gert's approval) that this is the last CC-ed to  
everyone. Let's use this mailing list now!
