Totally agreed.

CVS is not your own personal development tree either - do some work in 
your own tree until you've achieved something significant, check it, 
test it, check the diff, then commit it in the one chunk. Sure, there 
will sometimes be bugs that slip through the cracks, but this can be 
largely avoided with a bit of care and discipline, and it's much easier 
on the rest of us instead of having to wade through meaningless commit 
message after meaningless commit message, and update every time you 
decide to change 5 lines of code. This is a team project, after all, 
and requires a bit of teamwork and consideration.
