Summary: assigning sound to objects for "rendering" 3d-audio in animations

Initial Comment:
What about being able to assign sound to objects in an animation, so that a scene can be rendered with true 3d sound exported as Sorround or 5.1-Sound or something?

The "virtual ears" would be right beside the camera and since single sounds are assigned to different objects, all coordinates are known so that 3d-sound can be  rendered.

Unfortunately I have not the skills to implement a system like this, but I had this idea this morning and do not want it to become forgotten.

An extension to such a system could be to have audio-materials or textures which reflect the sound differently, or to render Doppler's effect and things like that. Sorry, I'm just arsing around...
