Actually, you know what would be even better than
this? A tool that automaticly adds the .right or
.left.

That way you could just create one side of the
armature without worrying about adding the .right or
.left, than add them through this function (A popmenu
would ask for Left or Right when invoking the
function). If the bone already has an extension
(.left, .right, .001, ...), it replaces it.

IMHO, that would be even better.
