Summary: Better, configurable toon edge
Initial Comment:
A nicely configurable toon edge (like the OpenGL toon)
would be really appreciated, specially for character
animation.
It might as well have a "detail" slider or similar, to
add more control of the edge rendering in diferent
parts of the model mesh.

It is my opinion that this feature should be made a property of shader configuration (possibly just toon shader, although I can see where it would be useful for others).
Another option would be to somehow make the toon edge a texture (non-stencillable) so it can be applied procedurally.
With any luck this is possible to implement in a texture plugin - and I'll see what I can do to make one.
Both of these options would allow for very flexible edge drawing.
