[tuhopuu-devel] menus

Hi all,

Now that the re-fork has happened and I've got a little bit of time, I
wouldn't mind trying to integrate the menu experiments I've been doing here:
http://www.blender.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=1939
and that have been talked about on the funboard. It's still quite
work-in-progress and a clear consensus hasn't really been reached on how
best to organise things, but I thought it was at the stage to get some wider
feedback/help with (probably icky) implementation from better coders than I,
and also some wider user testing, which may help to solve the problem of
organisation..

Part of the stuff I've been doing is changing the look of the menus, as well
as things like check marks and proper triangle arrows. Should I include this
too? There's a bit of tweaking in the menu drawing code for it. Also as part
of these experiments, I've been (for example) taking some of the header
buttons from the 3D viewport and putting them into a 'View' menu, to
organise them better and more descriptively, and to clean up the clutter
along the window header. Since this is a relatively large change, should I
be keeping these experiments behind a disabled ifdef or something? Or just
let loose? (it's the evil experimental tree after all :P)

Any suggestions or objections?

cheers

Matt
