[tuhopuu-devel] The proposed re-birth of tuhopuu

Hi gang,

OK, we've discussed this a bit and so I
guess it's time to actually put the wheels
in motion. Here is what I would like to
propose:

One week from today (Sunday, August 3 2003),
the current tuhopuu tree will be expired. It
will become a new cvs module named 'blender-old'
and in it's place there will be a new 'blender'
module that will consist of the bf-blender
sources that are current on that day. The manner
in which this will be done will preserve all
cvs history for the files in the old
tuhopuu tree so that we can it use as a
reference when patching the new tree.
Individual authors will be responsible for
patching any features onto the new tree that
they wish to keep. I know that patching
will be a bit labour intensive, but I
think it is worth it in order to have
things better in sync with the current
state of the official blender tree.
The actual job of cvs surgery will be
assigned to the capable hands of LarstiQ.
Might be nice to also have a contest on
Elysiun to get a new splash for the new tree ...

Does this proposal sound reasonable?
Are there any other suggestions about this?
This is very important so if anybody has any
questions or concerns or gripes (or just want
to say "Go for it!") then please speak now ...
