Cool stuff! Do you think you'll have something to show
soon? This proposal would probably be a good thing to
post at blender.org too (just in case there's something
missing that somebody else might point out).

Yeah, also Ton mentioned a bit about constraints in the last
meeting minutes:

"Replacing the current 'parenting' and 'tracking' function with generic 
  Constraints was discussed. Although this is a wanted feature, nobody 
has planned to work at this. Volunteers can contact me, to help 
understanding how the current system works, and point to the numerous 
pitfalls in touching that code!"


I think that the 3 of us (and anybody else interested)
should take him up on this offer, possibly in the
form of an workshop-style irc session. We should
schedule this for after Simon's doc has been presented
(hopefully we will all be better up to speed with
some of the constraint code by then).
