What I did this week:

I resolved many of the errors present in the branch after receiving
feedback from the artists.
Really appreciate wazou's tweet about the functionality in bevel modifier. (
https://twitter.com/pitiwazou/status/1017708842212364288)

I've fixed the artifacting present with just below 1.0f profile and
multiple segments.
Changed default normal strength when the modifier is initialized and
changed how strength is calculated.
Added support to bevel curves as was requested and lastly fixed several
weighting issues present with the modifier. Checked the .blend file and the
result is as expected.

I've acknowledged the request and there's no plan on removing the weighted
normal modifier, unless the prior issue of normals getting corrupt with
mesh edit ops is resolved, which is a massive task in itself.
If anything, I'll try to incorporate wn mod as an extension to the bevel
mod. The wn modifier is fairly complicated and porting entire functionality
to bevel is not feasible. I've added most of the critical functionality
(sharp edges, weights) to bevel but it still lacks in some areas eg
inability to select face influences.

What I plan on doing next week:

I'll see to fixing weld operation as is listed on the forum. I'll also work
on merging vertices in bevel.
