I don't understand. If you wanted to return to defaults, you would just
uncheck the box and the operator would return to default settings.

At this point I think this "set defaults" idea just seems too abstract.
What *actual* cases for adjusting defaults are very time-saving? The only
examples I can think of can be trivially handled already with repeat-last.

I agree! I actually had some pen and paper sketches where I used ellipses.

Those drag-handles are far too small. Collision with the drag-handles is
something I had not thought about.

Have you considered using your right-click interaction model for the
subpanel dialogs? This would avoid collision with the left-click to
open/drag them, avoid the UI clutter of a control, and be just as usable.
It's less discoverable, but it might be a better tradeoff.

Removed operator redo panel

I'm happy to see operator-redo panel move out of the bottom of the
tools-sidebar. Has it been given any new home yet, or is it just available
via F6?

I favor (a) a small F6-style "current/last operator title" displayed on the
3dview (maybe lower-right corner?) and/or (b) a clear display of the
current/last operator title in the history panel, along with a similar
"..." button to open the F6 panel for it.
