1) what you did this week:

-finished implementation of subsurf-aware UV unwrapping.
-bug fixes to latter.
-started implementation of smart stitch operator. (The modal version
now more-or-less works as before)
-check http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Psy-Fi for features.
also http://psy-fidelity.blogspot.com/ is more up-to-date

2) Next week:

-finish the smart stitch modifier (implement missing features of smart
stitch: real time preview, vertex/edge selection,uv island snapping).
-start implementation of new feature, either relax brushes for UV
editor or uv pack islands.
-Make a video demonstration of new features so far :)

3)difficulties

Currently islands are not stored in MTFaces, making work with islands
very clumsy and slow. Considering to change this but it needs big
refactor. Alternative is calculate everything on the fly(most probable
scenario). Blender really needs better adjacency data. Hope bmesh will
fix this.
