Wow! This brought back memories of a small project I did several years back
in Blender python. - http://sourceforge.net/projects/robotsim/

It had a "Robotic panel" that provided forward and inverse kinematics to
control a 3d robot, and was written in a single python file embedded within
Blender.
Nothing too sophisticated but writing that code taught me the basics of
robotics as well as blender and python so I had quite a lot of fun with it!

Hope it helps someone else looking for a small easy to understand script
with such features.
