there is a direct link from Amsterdam to New York - would that be faster?
how could we test that? perhaps if the connection is taken the other way, i.e.
you add the Waag IP to the xseed ssh access list, and we try it from running
the command in that waag machine? or does it make a difference, as the
network just routes the packets as it does, ..?
this is what Henk saw in his test, a different route - dunno from where that
thunderbird transfer was (i guess not from the states?)
