Hi Rob,
I've completed most of the content for the "Introduction to the GE"
tutorial.
http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/BSoD/Introduction_to_the_Game_Engine
As the tutorial is aimed at people who might be using Blender for the
first time, and wanting to focus only on the GE features, it required
quite a bit of balancing of practical "hands on" exercises, and not
overloading the user with too much information.
I've also used a few animated GIFs within the tutorial to illustrate
some more advanced interactions ( such as setting up the game logic
blocks, which involves clicking in a few places, as well as dragging
between connections ).
I've used a similar structure to teach Blender and the GE to work
experience students, so hopefully it'll be of use to other students
wanting to learn Blender in a fun way ( making simple games :)
If some of the mentors could look over it, I think it is more or less
ready to be tweaked to conform to the agreed templates. If you can give
me some pointers, I'll focus on that part of it now.
I'm also planning on doing a Part 2 at some stage in the future, which
will touch on some more advanced GE features ( and will assume that the
user has some Blender editing skills, rather than having to allow for
non-skilled Blender users ).
Regards...
