Hi,
I think making a dedicated page (if it does not already exist) is a good idea. If you have time to make one, please share a link here and we can add a link to that in the page. The page could be called: Install Blender on legacy systems, or something similar.
Regards,
Francesco

Good, thanks.
Maybe adding a note about "If Blender reports an error on startup,
please install the Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package. Click here
<https://web.archive.org/web/20151015182152/http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784>.
" could help too... ?
Perhaps we could instead create a wiki page helping those that need to
use that older (or even older) versions: eg, those listed here
https://www.blender.org/download/previous-versions/, and add on the
requirements page a link like: "older OS version or graphics card?" look
here... =>
That info page could also help people to find in which (and get that)
version Cycles supports their old nvidia card, eg, or else...
just my 2c...
