no, the home page laod normally: my experience is much worse, a general 
browser lock **for a few seconds**, repeated after **any action** on the 
page (scroll, click links, switch tab...)

..and I am on core2duo e7600 at 3.06ghz CPU with 4GB ram, win7 x64...

this happens on any page showing that "dotted image", ie, most of the 
site pages, atm:
