I'm sure some of our communications were lost in the flood of emails. Let me reply here.

This decision makes no sense. And seems ill-considered and hasty.
Why the rush ?
I don't understand what you mean. I tried to take some decisions before we reach email n 50 on this thread :)

What are the reasons for this ?

Is the purpose of each video well defined ?
The purpose is to illustrate the most important and relevant Blender features.

What will the content be ?
It will be based on the current Features page content.

How long will the videos be ?
Around 5 minutes each.

Are they voiced ? Avoiding voice overs is surely a benefit.
Yes they will be voiced.

Are they branded in any way ?
They will be "neutral", posted on the Blender Foundation YouTube account.

Has this decision been made simply because it is convenient  and "ticks some of the boxes" ?
I'm not sure what you are talking about.
