The Blender website is international, therefore, any content will be
offensive to at least one culture among the many. Eg., even a depiction of
a bottle of alcohol could be very offensive to some while simply being a
nice work of art to others. Some moderation should still be taken, though
it's the level of moderation which should be made clear. The level of
material currently on the blender site is quite acceptable in my view, and
no more offensive than what you see on kid's prime-time TV. You would
probably find that even depicting something that looks really innocent might
be extremely provocative and offensive to some viewers. They need to
understand that the content wasn't made to offend them, it was made for the
wider audience as a work of art.

Most schools have their own proxy and can filter content they deem as unfit
for their class, so each culture can decide what is acceptable for their
viewers. There is probably free software available that can be used to
'protect' the innocent as well. Start censoring at blender.org and you lose
the respect of the art community.
