Hi,

@Duaret: Part of what you are proposing (part of the second part at least)
may be possible with a preset system.

@All: Since there were not diverging points raised in regard to the
presented proposal I started to materialize some of it in code.

There is an ongoing discussion from developers there. And I really would
like to hear from artists on the matter.

Having it as a patch should make the discussion points more targeted and
help us move to a final design sooner.
