Hello,
Is it better to split a window by right click an edge to show a
splitting line like 2.4x behavior?
I don't think a corner is a good method for doing that because.

1. It suggests window scaling rather splitting. (Could be used for
multi axis window scaling instead?)
2. To split a window, one must move the mouse cursor to the corner,
click the corner then moving back
to the location that want to split rather just move the cursor to the
point to split.
This also unnecessarily redraws and reshapes a lot of UIs.

The old 2.4 method could be improved, like right click the edge to
split, then moving the cursor
near an edge to decide if user want to split horizontally or
vertically rather use MMB to switch
the direction like 2.4. MMB could be used to do something fancy like
trigger cross hair mode to
split the window into 4 segments etc.

The act of joining could be the middle click on the edge or something.
Any method similar to these
would be nice IMHO.
